This award is to assist post-doctoral fellows (PDFs) with expenses associated with attending the CSZ Annual Meeting.

Objectives

This award is to assist post-doctoral fellows (PDFs) with expenses associated with attending the CSZ Annual Meeting. This is a need-based travel award and preference will be given based on distance to the meeting and to PDFs outside of Canada.

Award

Cash award of up to $500.

Source of Prize

Funded by the Student/PDF Section.

Frequency of Award

Normally a maximum of two per year. The awards need not be made every year.

Eligibility

To be eligible the applicant must:

be a PDF member of CSZ;

have been a member of CSZ for at least two years;

be a first author presenting a poster or a talk at the meeting.

Application Procedures

Applications are to be made to the PDF councilor. Applications will be assessed by the PDF councilor and the student councilors. The application should include a budget of the total cost of attending the meeting, a list of other sources of funding available to the applicant (currently secured, and potential funding), and the name of the university of tenure. In addition, applicants should include a brief (250 words or less) statement justifying why attendance at the upcoming CSZ meeting is important to them. The total application should not exceed one page.

Recipients will be required to:

Provide social insurance number and permanent mailing address to CSZ Treasurer before payment is issued;

Acknowledge to CSZ Treasurer receipt of the cheque.
